The colors on the Canadian flag were not chosen on a whim. King George V declared red and white to represent Canada in 1921. He chose red to signify Saint George’s cross and white to symbolize the French royal emblem at the time. The combination of white and red also was used in the General Service Medal which was issued by Queen Victoria. Major General Eugene Fiset stated that Canada's emblem should be a solitary red maple leaf against a white field. The maple leaf had been worn by Olympic athletes in Canada since 1904 and had been the unofficial symbol of Canada since 1836, when it was adopted as the official emblem of The St. Jean Baptiste Society of Lower Canada.

Canadia Co.'s flag emblems are reproductions of official flags created from original artwork. All of our flag emblems are made from 100% polyester thread for durability and are woven for finer detail, yet maintain an embroidered texture.
All emblems measure approximately 3.5” by 1.75” and are sized two length by one width for uniformity which is in accordance with the correct proportions of the National Flag.
Emblems are low profile and laser cut on all sides for a clean, subtle appearance and are sewn onto the left sleeve of all apparel as a default.

Using direct embroidery, we customize placement to the left or right chest by choosing from a selection of stock fonts. Or, choose your own and submit details by e-mail. Articles of clothing are not pre-shrunk and are made of either 100% Cotton or Cotton/Polyester blends. We recommend that apparel be machine washed cold and hung or tumble dried on low heat.
